New Survey

Our latest survey asks, "What is your favorite Little House on the Prairie Christmas Episode?"

Is it:

* When Mr. Edwards crosses the creek to bring the Ingalls girls their Christmas presents their first year in Kansas during The Pilot?

* Is it that first Christmas on Plum Creek when Baby Carrie says, "Happy Birthday Jesus!"

* Did you enjoy the drama of the episode Blizzard, when some of the children get lost in a sudden storm that catches them unaware on their way home from school?

* How about when the Ingallses, Wilders, Kendalls, and Hester Sue share stories of Christmases long ago as they wait for a storm to pass?

* Or was it the final Christmas episode where Almanzo, Laura, and Isaiah frantically search for Rose, who has been kidnapped, while Jenny and the Carters are treated to a bit of Christmas cheer thanks to Mr. Montague?

Please vote in our new survey and feel free to elaborate upon your selection here. If you recognize the photo I used, then you'll already know my favorite.

I'd like to vote twice. :)

I had to vote for the Mr. Edwards Christmas, because it's a "real Christmas" and as a book fan, I therefore have to go with that one.

However, in spite of being a book fan, when I consider the tv show as a separate entity from the books altogether (which a book purist HAS to do in order to like both books and show...) I have to say that I also really love the Christmas on Plum Creek, with the Gift of the Magi scene. Although it's not a LIW Christmas, it's a beautiful and heartrending episode, and it's definitely a favorite.

At our house on Christmas day, we HAVE to watch Christmas on Plum Creek and The Homecoming (Waltons pilot) or it isn't really Christmas. :)

And that, Frontier Girl, is exactly what Dean Butler was getting at in our interview. Yes, the stories from the show are different than the books, but they have the same kind of feel to them.

I also see the books and the show as totally different entities. I've known people who won't watch the show because it strays from the books, but having seen the talent of Michael Landon on TV for so many years, I trust his judgment was correct and I will always enjoy both the books and the show.

Thanks for your kind words Becky. I'm glad you're enjoying it. Oh, if my time was limitless you would see what I could really do with it.

Is the plum creek one about Nelly and a horse? I like it because of the winter bonnets.

Yes, that's the one where Laura trades Bunny to Mr. Oleson in exchange for Ma's cookstove.

I always loved the Little House stories and admired Laura Ingalls Wilder so much when I was young. I think it has to be the Mr. Edwards in the pilot for my favorite episode.

I love The Christmas They Never Forgot. Mary and Adam return to the family, it is sooo good to see them. I wish that Mary had more lines though.
I love the stories that they tell. I always get teary eyed at Caroline's story. And I love Almanzo's story. The little boy who played him was soooo cute.

Looks like "A Christmas They Never Forgot" is in the lead. Yeah!
